The food was bland, if not downright awful. I've been to several Chinese buffets over the years & this is very easily the worst ever! The beef spaghetti with pepper was my favourite dish & the only one I liked at all out of the ones that I tried - but even it was not something terribly memorable. There's not a lot of choice if you are not a seafood lover like me.

The dessert however was quite good - lots of ice cream choices though a couple of pails were virtually empty. But I don't like the system of shared ice cream scoops - just 2 scoops for all of the pails. It can be difficult for people to get the ice cream off the scoop - prompting kids to use their fingers. Another strike against cleanliness.

And then the kicker - the threat of charging 75 cents per piece as a leftover charge. On the surface, the charge maybe makes sense in order to stop food wastage, but what's to stop people from hiding it, dumping it on the floor under the table, or perhaps throwing it out in the washroom? Even if these scenarios do not happen in practice, it sounds like a risky business decision - if it's actually enforced. So if you visit the restaurant & don't eat the food because it tastes awful, do you have to pay this ridiculous charge???

Decor was a bit bland but the restaurant is spacious. Prices are low but I would be willing to pay more for enjoyable food. There's no indication if the food is healthier as a tradeoff for bland taste but I won't count on it.

I normally reserve a Poor rating for restaurants that are either bad in virtually every respect or have an obvious cleanliness issue - which I did not see in a major way here. So I'll rate Buffet Square as Fair. You won't see me back here if I'm choosing where to eat.

I got Very sick after eating this food

The food at this establishment is very good. However, on the weekends the sqewed shrimp seem to be at most times unavailable. The wait for same is rather long. I have no problem in recommending Buffet Square to anyone. Keep up the good work.

Probably the best Chinese Buffet in Winnipeg at a reasonable price.

Maybe the food was excellent when it opened, but I think they have gotten sloppy, and their food was not hot enough to enjoy... and slow service, had to keep asking for my drink.

most of the food items were not very hot . i am certain the food would not be hot enough for a health inspection . we found hair in the icecream .the while you wait stir fry was good and hot . price was moderate . would not rush back .

i think Buffet Square has great busier and server

The food selection at Buffet Square is good. There is a lot to choose from and most of the time the quality of the food is excelent. The staff is friendly, but it does tend to get busy, mostly on Sundays. So I would suggest getting there before noon time. So my opinion is that Buffet Square is a good place to eat if you are with a group, or with the family. The kind of food there is mostly Asian.

This place is truly Winnipeg's best kept secret. Their lunch and dinner buffets are inexpensive - and the food is outstanding! Various selections of sushi, dim sum, high quality desserts and ice cream make this by far the best buffet in Winnipeg! This is my favourite place in Winnipeg to eat. It's a must try for all Winnipeggers!
