Bella Vista was suggested by a former co-worker to have my going-away dinner at.

Reading the last review compelled me to add my experience of Bella Vista.
Horrible is a very strong adjective that might overemphasize an unsatisfying experience. Albeit every reviewer is entitled to their opinion and choice of diction.

#1-The Food-was very good overall. The regular portions are definitely full-filling. Foolishly I ordered 2 pasta entrees... 1 to share. The pizza that was ordered had generous toppings and a good balance between sauce, cheese & crust. The food I feel is comparable to Colosseo Ristorante & Bombolini's.

#2-The Service-was more than adequate. Our server offered her help with the indecisives in our group. She was also prompt to inform us of a particular entree that they ran-out of.

#3-The Atmosphere-had more character than I was expecting. Huge colourful painted murals adorn the walls of the dining area. The lights could have been dimmed somewhat as previously mentioned. The bar area is slightly cramped, but the live band playing adjacent to the bar possessed an undeniable energy that kept the vibe of the entire restaurant a positive one.

Bella Vista is highly recommended.

Wednesday nights with the Scott Nolan band are rocking!
My girlfriend and I tend to frequent this establishment and find it quite pleasing except for the fact that the lights tend to be a little too bright for a late night crowd.
There are however a few other pubs/bars in the neighborhood, but the Bella Vista consistently makes for a good evening out.
I've found that they have great Italian food and huge portions that satisfy not only the desire for appetizers but also the party of friends that you might happen to bring with (Pizza and pasta are probably the best in town).
Overall, with the service being exceptionally attentive and friendly, and the live music, as well as the quality of the food (being greeted by the owner doesn't hurt either), I've been pleasantly surprised again and again by this quaint and cozy establishment and their staff.

The Bella Vista is the kind of cozy neighborhood pub that keeps locals and expats alike returning. It is the neighborhood 'Cheers' where you will be greeted by name and your favourite drink remebered. This coupled with the best local music on the praires and amazing italian food at shockingly reasonable prices serves to make the Bella an ongoing Winnipeg favorite.

Horrible atmosphere, horrible service. Mediocre over-priced/small portions. $3 for a glass (half bottle) of domestic draft. Dirty and dusty. Burnt out lights. Crackley radio that was competing with the blaring television. Should have guessed this would be a bad experience when walking into an empty restaurant on a Saturday night...
